I offer expert 1-2-1 support and guidance in preparation for the upcoming external examinations. All my private students are allocated their own Language Gym classroom and Textivate account where I will upload follow-on and support activities for extra practice between lessons.

Key Stage 2: It's never to early to start Spanish! Half hour Key Stage 2 lessons are ideal for younger learners. Lessons are fun and interactive. £25 per half hour
Key Stage 3: I will support your child's French and Spanish language aquisition and ensure a sound grounding in grammar, vocabulary and speaking as well as offering a creative range of cultural activities to inspire further learning. All private students have access to their own Language Gym classroom and Textivate for extra practice between lessons. £45 per hour
Key Stage 4 - Year 10: In this foundation year, we will focus on buliding confidence in grammar and spoken communication. I will help your child revise for his/her school assessments and exams. All private students have access to their own Language Gym classroom and Textivate for extra practice between lessons. £45 per hour
Key Stage 4 - Year 11: The focus is still on grammar and written and oral communication. This year we will also be devoted to improving examination skills with lots of exam-style question papers and extention work to stretch and challenge the most able. All work is marked to examination standards which allows for feedback and improvement. All private students have access to their own Language Gym classroom and Textivate for extra practice between lessons. £45 per hour
Key Stage 5 - Year 12 & 13: I am able to support your son's / daughter's school work, helping with grammar, the cultural topics, and essay-writing for the film and book. We will prepare and practise the Cultural Topics for the oral exam and I can share good techniques for the Individual Research Project (but it is against the regulations to help with this). All private students have access to their own Language Gym classroom and Textivate for extra practice between lessons. £55 per hour

UCAS - Personal Statement support. £30 per half hour

Keynote Courses for Spanish Teachers

On Thursday it was "Teaching AQA Spanish Paper 2: Film and Literature" and on Friday it was " Pearson A Level Spanish: Aiming for A* and A". Footballers learning Spanish in lockdown!
With professional football ready to resume after its enforced three-month hiatus, some players and managers have been working on much more than just their golf handicap under lockdown. Championship player Josh Windass and Premiership Recruitment Manager Sam Jewell have been learning Spanish online with Profesora Irvine.

Message to all
It’s devastating news about the cancellation of all GCSE and A Level exams this year. I totally understand the need to close schools and colleges but these children have worked so hard and will not get the rewards they deserve. The wonderful children that I’ve been working with individually are all over-performing on their predicted and mock grades and I genuinely hope that this will be reflected in the final grade that they are rewarded.
I’ll be continuing my Spanish & French lessons via Skype with my non-exam students, and adult learners, and am happy to provide continuity of education for those who find themselves at home without support and feedback.

GCSE Conferences
I spent a day last week with 230 Year 10 and 11 girls at Bentley Wood High School in Harrow. A whole day of Spanish is a challenge for anyone and these girls were really involved and enthusiastic.The afternoon started with a questions and answers session and it was really encouraging to learn that the girls are thinking positively about their language options for the future and enjoying their Spanish.
The day ran smoothly thanks to the support of a great team of Spanish teachers and the school technician!

Beginners' Spanish Courses for Golfers
This week I am launching my five-week Beginners' Spanish Courses for Golfers. Starting in January 2020, each 90-minute module is designed to teach you to communicate basic Spanish in typical holiday situations. There’s no need for any prior experience; just come along to learn in a fun and friendly environment. All teaching and learning materials are included in the price of £85. Payment must be made in full in advance. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.This is an ideal Christmas present for yourself or a loved one!
